SENSORS AND INTERROGATORS Sensors | | Fiber optic short-base strain sensorThis strain sensor is mounted with high-performance epoxy on metal or GRP. It is available in single-axis and multi-axis versions. With an IP 68 watertightness, it is suitable also for mounting in submerged locations. The sensor is supplied either with a low-profile GRP cover, or a SUS316 stainless steel cover for mechanical protection. Type approved for marine use by DNV.
- Datasheet single-axis version - Datasheet multi-axis version | | | Fiber optic long-base strain sensorThis strain sensor measures over a 1500mm gauge length, and satisfies Lloyd's Register requirements for hull stress measurements. The sensor is bolt-mounted to base plates that are welded to the structure/hull. The sensor is supplied with a SUS316 stainless steel cover for mechanical protection. The sensor has been qualified for marine use.
- Datasheet | | | Fiber optic accelerometerThe fiber optic accelerometer has been designed to fulfill class requirements for slamming induced impacts in the bow of ships, and measures accelerations of +/- 20 m/s2 in the frequency range 0-100Hz. The sensor has been qualified for marine use.
- Datasheet | | | Fiber optic displacement sensorThe basic version of this sensor is the long-base strain sensor, which measures displacements of up to +/- 3 mm over a 1500 mm gauge length. It is bolt-mounted to the structure, or to welded base plates. Contact us for other gauge-lengths or displacement requirements. - Datasheet | | Interrogators | | FBG AnalyzerThis scanning filter interrogator is designed for long-term monitoring of FBG-based sensors under field and laboratory conditions. It is used together with an industrial PC that handles data analysis and storage.
It is available in a 3-channel and a 7-channel version with a simultaneous sampling rate of all FBGs of 680 Hz in a 35nm wavelength range. A high-speed version sampling at 1.3kHz is also available, with reduced wavelength range. The internal reference provides good long-term stability in the measurements.
The unit is delivered in a rack-mountable cabinet for easy mounting in lab or field applications.
ATEX certified for marine use by DNV. Electromagnetically and environmentally qualified for marine applications. | | | FRIMPThis unit was developed for ultrahigh-speed applications in dynamic pressure monitoring. It is based on an interferometric technique and is used together with an industrial PC with high-speed data acquisition boards. The basis model has 8 independent (single-FBG) channels and is suitable for dynamic signals in the range 5Hz-10kHz. Qualified for use with sensors in explosion hazardous environments. - Datasheet | |
